OAKLAND, Calif. —
A student was shot at a high school in Oakland on Wednesday, and two juveniles are in custody in connection with the shooting, according to the police department.
Officials said the shooting happened at Skyline High School just after classes were dismissed for the day.
The student who was shot was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover, officials confirmed to KCRA's Ryan Curry.
The school campus was placed on lockdown to ensure it was safe for the other students to leave. The lockdown has since been lifted, allowing students to return home.
One juvenile was arrested on campus in connection with the shooting, while another was arrested off campus, officials said. It's not clear if the two were students or had any connection to the school.
