The acclaimed jazz group Artemis began with a special request.
In 2016, a French promoter asked pianist Renee Rosnes to organize an all-female jazz band to perform in Paris and Luxembourg. Rosnes immediately realized that the all-star band she pulled together for concerts timed to International Women’s Day deserved an encore.
“We had a great time playing together and we wanted to continue,” the New York City-based Rosnes said last week.
