Top Trump Economic Aide Says We May Never Know October Jobs Data: We Could ‘Concoct Something’

Kevin Hassett , director of the National Economic Council, claimed Thursday that federal jobs data from October may never be compiled, thanks to the extensive government shutdown.

Hassett appeared on Fox News with Bill Hemmer, who played a clip of White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt blaming the Democrats for damaging “the federal statistical system with October CPI (Consumer Price Index) and jobs reports likely never being released, ” Leavitt said Wednesday. “And all of that economic data released will be permanently impaired, leaving our policymakers at the Fed flying blind at a critical period.”
