CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - The Kanawha County Commission and the Shawnee Sports Complex will host the Mountain State Cup for the seventh year in a row this weekend.

From November 14 to November 16, the soccer tournament is expected to host over 7,500 athletes and spectators, with more than 250 games to played across the three-day event.

“The Mountain State Cup is back for its seventh year, and we couldn’t be more thrilled,” Commission President Ben Salango said. “This tournament alone will bring over $1.5 million in economic impact. We encourage the community to come out and support our local athletes and to welcome those from around the country this weekend at Shawnee.”

More than 130 teams are participating in the tournament, and the first game starts at 5:30 p.m.
