AT&T has agreed to pay up to $177 million after settling a class action lawsuit surrounding two “ data incidents ” from 2024. Affected customers are eligible for up to $7,500 if they file a claim before Nov. 18.
The lawsuit came after the phone carrier was accused of allowing partial customer data, such as names, addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses, dates of birth, account passcodes, billing account numbers, and Social Security numbers, to be put on the dark web or illegally downloaded from a third-party cloud platform.
