Getting “scumbags” off the street is one way Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown described Project Winner, a Peel drug trafficking investigation that has led to a 29-year-old Toronto man facing 11 charges.
And cops say the accused was on a 10-year weapons prohibition order at the time of his arrest.
More than $1 million in drugs and a loaded illegal firearm and 1,000 rounds of ammo were seized on Oct. 31 after search warrants were served on two Toronto locations following a tip that a someone was selling drugs out of a home in Brampton.
Among the items seized was a loaded 9mm handgun with a high-capacity extended magazine, seven kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, 1.8 kilograms of cocaine, about 2,600 grams of Percocet, about 500 grams of fentanyl, and about 1,000 grams of Xanax. Officer
