HENRICO, Va. (WWBT) - Inside Richmond International Airport, several travelers have seen no issues with their flights on Thursday as the government shutdown comes to an end.
This includes Lisa Lepine, who touched down at RIC after catching a flight from Detroit. Last weekend, Lepine said her family was not lucky.
“We went to DC to watch the Commander Lions game,” she said. “My son’s flight was cancelled, so he ended up driving from Indianapolis to DC.”
Travelers have been experiencing delays and cancellations amid the government shutdown. Last week, the Federal Aviation Administration reduced their flight capacity at major airports across the country.
On Wednesday evening, President Donald Trump signed a funding bill, which ended the historic 43-day funding stalemate.
