CHARLESTON — A vacant building on King Street that partially collapsed on Halloween is now officially set for demolition, and it could start as early as Nov. 14, according to city spokesperson Deja Knight McMillan.
The building, located at 1001 King St., stands next to Rodney Scott's BBQ.
On the other side, nearly abutting the crumbling brick side wall, is a small apartment building. Residents were forced to flee to a hotel for fear that the building could imminently collapse, said Councilman Robert Mitchell.
