An 18-year-old Stanfield man is being held on a $1 million bond after he allegedly shot a family member on a rural road south of Maricopa late last month, according to the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office and court records.

Shortly after 2 p.m. on Oct. 25, Pinal County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a shooting on Liebre Road near Stanfield. When they arrived, they learned Herson Lopez-Rodriguez, 18, had intentionally shot a family member. The victim was taken to a hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

Lopez-Rodriguez was arrested at the scene and booked into the Pinal County jail on multiple charges related to the shooting. He remains in custody on a $1 million bond, the sheriff’s office said.
