BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. —
Officials in Buncombe County, North Carolina, said crews responded to two fires on Thursday.
The Enka Candler Fire Department and the North Carolina Forest Service responded to a fire in the Milk Sick Cove Area. As of 3 p.m., the fire is approximately 25 acres and 10% contained. Two structures are currently being protected.
Officials said this fire is in a heavily wooded area with extremely rough terrain.
The Fairview Fire Department and the North Carolina Forest Service responded to a fire in the Lower Brush Creek, Burney Mountain Road Area. As of 3 p.m., the fire is approximately 6 acres at this time and 20% contained. Four structures are currently being protected.
Officials said the fire is in an area with heavy blow-down.
