Srinagar, Nov 13: The Election Commission of India (ECI) is set to commence the counting of votes on Friday for the 27–Budgam and 77–Nagrota Assembly constituencies in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, following polling held on November 11, 2025.
The by-elections were conducted to fill vacant Assembly seats arising from the resignation and demise of sitting members due to recent political developments in the region.
The Nagrota bypoll was necessitated by the passing of senior BJP leader and sitting MLA Devender Singh Rana, whose death earlier this year left the seat vacant.
