Veteran right-handed pitcher Randy Dobnak, who finished the 2025 season in the Detroit Tigers organization, has signed a minor-league contract with the Seattle Mariners .
Dobnak, 30, was acquired from the Minnesota Twins in the Chris Paddack trade in July .
Paddack was the main attraction for the Tigers; Dobnak was thrown in a salary dump by the Twins. The Tigers paid $1 million to buy out his contract and make him a free agent at the end of the season.
Dobnak had a 3.79 ERA in 38 innings with Triple-A Toledo, striking out 35 and walking 16.
He’s had a colorful career, rising from indy ball and late-night Uber shifts to the majors and earning a five-year contract with the Twins, only to spend most of the last four seasons shuttling between Triple A and the injured list.
