NEWARK - New Media High School, the latest career-focused school venture in Newark, is projected to welcome its first students in September 2026.
New Media High School will be located at the former site of the Dayton Street Elementary School in Newark’s South Ward, adjacent to where “Lionsgate Studios Newark” will erect a 270,000-square-foot TV production studio with six sound stages.
The studio is scheduled to break ground in January and open in 2027.
In partnership with Great Point Studios and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC), New Media High School will provide students with apprenticeships, internships, and eventually employment with these industry partners.
