The Honolulu Police Department arrested a 21-year-old man early this morning in connection with an incident Saturday in which a gun was fired toward a crowd at the Chinese Cultural Plaza.
According to witnesses, two men reportedly were threatening and harassing people when someone approached them to tell them to stop, HPD said in a news release. One of the men later fired a round toward a crowd; no injuries were reported.
Through investigation, police identified two suspects, ages 21 and 26. The younger man was located and arrested today by HPD’s District 1 Crime Reduction Unit. The older suspect remained at large.
HPD is asking anyone with information on the case, classified as reckless endangering, to call 911 or contact CrimeStoppers at 808-955-8300.
