An East Tennessee woman has pleaded guilty to crimes involving "extreme violence and sexual abuse against monkeys," according to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) .
Katrina Favret, of Greeneville, pleaded guilty to conspiring to create and distribute what the department termed “animal crush videos,” with several online groups, according to an updated press release issued Nov 13 by the DOJ. Favret also pleaded guilty to a second count related to a specific video she solicited, the DOJ's release said.
Greeneville is the county seat of Greene County in East Tennessee and had a population of a little more than 14,470 people, according to U.S. Census figures from 2020.
It's about 4 hours east of Nashville between Knoxville and Johnson City.
