A series of names have been linked with the vacant manager position at the Riverside Stadium following Rob Edwards' recent departure.

The 42-year-old has joined Wolverhampton Wanderers after the Premier League side sacked Vitor Pereira. Wolves are winless in their opening 11 league fixtures this season and sit firmly bottom of the table.

Although Edwards’ exit blindsided the club, the Englishman has left Middlesbrough in a good position - second in the Championship. This will be an inviting prospect for whoever fills the vacancy.
