A day after Cristiano Ronaldo vowed to be a “good boy”, the 40-year-old manbaby walked off the pitch prematurely to the delight of a Dublin crowd.

In a World Cup qualifier against the Republic of Ireland, Ronaldo was issued his first international red card in 226 games for Portugal, one that could have serious consequences if the suspension carries into next summer’s World Cup.

And all for a petulant act, where Ronaldo rose to the bait of having his shirt pulled in the box and responded by elbowing Dara O’Shea in the back.

Frustrating? Sure. Jostling in the box is out of control, but Ronaldo is 23 years into his professional career and should know better.
