The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) has launched an investigation into the incident, which took place on College Road in Kensal Green on September 29.

The investigation began on October 16 after the Metropolitan Police Force made a mandatory conduct referral.

A public complaint from a witness regarding the level of force used was also referred to the IOPC.

The Met Police Officer involved is under investigation for a potential grievous bodily harm offence and possible gross misconduct.

This, however, does not necessarily mean that criminal or disciplinary proceedings will follow.

The IOPC will determine at the end of the investigation whether to refer the matter to the Crown Prosecution Service or initiate disciplinary proceedings.
