Social media isn’t what it used to be — at least what it was nearly 20 years ago when MySpace was all the rage and Facebook hadn’t become a big thing, and people were nicer to each other.
As I count my blessings this month, I am grateful for the networking and connections that social media has provided me. In addition to keeping me up to date on events and happenings, it’s given me a great opportunity to find old friends, make new ones, and keep in touch with the ones who are special to me. It’s even kept me entertained.
But that’s where it stops.
Social media has turned into something ugly in the past decade. It’s brought out the worst in people, and in some cases, I’ve learned way more about some people than I cared for. Some of the people I’d looked up to were diminished in the flash
