Human remains found along Lake Michigan over three decades ago have been identified as a 71-year-old Chicago woman who disappeared in 1987, authorities said.

Michigan State Police and the DNA Doe Project, a nonprofit organization that specializes in genetic genealogy, identified the remains as belonging to Dorothy Glanton on Wednesday, Nov. 12.
