LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Alcohol is suspected as a contributing factor in a fatal two-vehicle crash south of Lincoln Thursday night.
Deputies and emergency personnel were called just after 9:45 p.m. to Southwest 42nd Street and Highway 33, where they found a Honda Accord Crosstour and a Ford Fusion in opposite ditches.
According to LSO Chief Deputy Ben Houchin, a preliminary investigation determined the westbound Ford crossed the center line on Highway 33 and crashed nearly head-on into the eastbound Honda.
The Ford’s driver, Hermelinda Reynoso, 27, of Milford, was pronounced dead at the scene, Houchin said.
The Honda’s driver, a 24-year-old Friend woman, was airlifted to a local hospital, where she remains in critical condition.
