NC has not treated well its MP, say Locals
Srinagar, Nov 14: In a by-poll result that has redefined Budgam’s political landscape, the National Conference (NC) lost the seat it had held since 1977. However, the most powerful message wasn’t delivered through speeches, rallies, or manifestos. It came from silence. The silence of Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi , NC’s Member of Parliament and one of the most influential political and community voices in Budgam.
As the bypoll campaign began, NC mobilised its full strength. Chief Minister Omar led roadshows, ministers and MLAs fanned out across villages and the party tried to recreate its old grip on the constituency. But the absence of Aga Ruhullah, former MLA, respected Shia leader and one of the most trusted faces in central Kashmir
