An independent MP involved in the left-wing Your Party has announced his departure from the project, dealing another major blow to the Jeremy Corbyn and Zarah Sultana-led initiative.

MP Adnan Hussain said he would be withdrawing from the “steering process,” citing concerns about factionalism and “veiled prejudice” against Muslims.

The Blackburn MP, who serves as secretary of the limited company behind Your Party, also cited “persistent infighting and a struggle for power” as reasons for his exit.
