The vast majority of cremated remains found at the controversial Richardson Mortuary Funeral home in April are still unclaimed. Families have until December 12 to claim them from Houston Police.
According to a public notice by the Houston Police Department, detectives were able to connect 22 cremated remains, or cremains, to their next of kin. However, 57 other cremains are still unclaimed.
"Any cremains that remain unclaimed after Dec. 12, 2025, will be transported by the Houston Police Department to Harris County Bereavement Services for final interment of the unclaimed cremains in a respectful and ethical manner," the public notice reads.
