CRESTON, Iowa (KCRG) - One person was hospitalized after a camper explosion in Creston Thursday night.
At approximately 10:21 p.m. Thursday, Creston firefighters responded to reports of an explosion on Patt Street.
Crews found no active fire, but the explosion had completely destroyed the camper. The explosion scattered debris up to 30 feet from the site.
The cause of the explosion is suspected to be a gas leak. Firefighters searched for hot spots, but no other structures were damaged.
One person was taken to the hospital and the cause of the incident remains under investigation.
