WASHINGTON, D.C. (WVLT) - An East Tennessee woman has pleaded guilty to charges related to her involvement in an online group that physically and sexually abuses monkeys, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
The DOJ said Katrina Favret, of Greeneville, worked with others “to create and distribute videos depicting acts of sadistic violence against baby and adult monkeys.”
“The conspirators used encrypted chat applications to direct money to individuals in Indonesia willing to commit the requested acts of torture on camera,” the news release from the DOJ said.
