A journalist whose career was ruined after an alleged affair with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. says the two both said “I love you” to each other.

Thirty-two-year-old Oliva Nuzzi details her romance with the now 71-year-old Secretary of Health and Human Services in an upcoming book, , which details how the romantic scandal led to her departure from magazine.

After a year-long, self-imposed exile, Nuzzi returns to the limelight to talk about her “digital affair” with the married Kennedy, which was documented in a series of The New York Times interviews.

Nuzzi says her relationship with RFK Jr. started during the 2024 presidential campaign when he ran as an independent candidate. The affair led to her job loss and the end of her engagement with journalist Ryan Lizza.
