COLUMBIA, S.C. — Riverbanks Zoo & Garden is about to get a little louder and a lot more exciting with the arrival of two playful and majestic lions, Pesho and Sidai. Next month, these young lions will make their journey from Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago to their new home in the Palmetto State,
Though they’ve yet to set foot in South Carolina, Pesho and Sidai are no strangers to Riverbanks.
These two lions are the grandcubs of Zuri and Thabisa, beloved former residents who helped shape the zoo’s history and legacy.
Riverbanks Zoo says the are excited to continue that legacy with the arrival of Pesho and Sidai, who are not only a connection to the past but also a symbol of the zoo’s ongoing commitment to the future of lion conservation.
