PORTLAND, Ore. — One of Oregon's pioneering and most-venerable breweries is closing its primary locations.

The Lincoln Chronicle reports that Rogue Ales shut its Newport brewing operations and restaurants, as well as spots in Southeast Portland, Astoria and West Salem, on Friday. The blog New School Beer reported that employees were told Rogue would shutter all operations.

Rogue is currently Oregon's fifth-largest brewer, as ranked by barrels brewed, per the PBJ's research . The company, though, is a legacy Oregon alemaker, with worldwide distribution that made its Dead Guy Ale one of the state's best-branded beers.

As recently as 2022, it was one of the country's 50th largest craft brewers .
