As a small business owner, I believe it is critical that we have a seat at the table when our elected officials are deciding policies that affect our businesses, our employees and our communities.
That’s why I traveled to Washington, D.C., last month with more than 233 local entrepreneurs as part of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Summit to talk to Sen. Chris Van Hollen, Sen. Angela Alsobrooks and Rep. Kweisi Mfume’s office about the opportunities and challenging realities of owning and growing a small business in Maryland. I hope hearing directly from us helped them understand how vital it is for policymakers to stay connected to the people creating jobs and opportunity on Main Street.
