On a sheet of lavender ice at the Wings Event Center in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the Komets will play their 10th of 11 road games to start the season against the Kalamazoo Wings at 7 p.m. today.

The change of color for the rink at the Wings Event Center is part of Hockey Fights Cancer Night, an initiative of the NHL and NHLPA to help raise funds and awareness for cancer research.

The Komets (7-2-0) enter as winners of five of their last six. The Wings (3-5-0) have won their last two home games.

Their initial meeting on Oct. 18 saw Kalamazoo come back from being down 4-1 entering the third period to tie the game at 5 with a goal by forward Colin Bilek with just over a minute to play.
