ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - The City of St. Louis has installed a row of boulders in front yards along the 4800 block of Germania Avenue to protect homes from out-of-control speeders who have repeatedly crashed into houses and cars.
The St. Louis Street Department completed the installation this week in response to complaints from homeowners about dangerous speeding on the stretch of Germania near Gravois.
In September, a speeding driver crashed into Charae Hacker’s home, nearly hitting the bedroom where her 3-year-old was located.
“My 3-year-old was underneath the living room where the car landed, and my mom was just inches away,” Hacker said.
