WORTHING, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - One family in Worthing is going above and beyond to help their community by setting up their very own food pantry called Kind Kitchens, so that food donations can help feed the hungry.
Miriah Atkins, her sister Whitney, and their mother, Georgina Cavin, have always wanted to find their own way to serve the community but weren’t sure how.
“About a year ago, I said to my daughters, ‘This is serious. I am going to start a non-profit, and I want us all to be involved,’” said Cavin. “The girls said, ‘Well, okay, mom, but what are we going to do?’ And I said, ‘I have no idea. I have no idea. But I’m going to pray about it, and God’s going to let us know when it’s time and what we need to do.’ And that’s what happened two weeks ago.”
