Recession indicator? They’re making Sharknado movies again. Variety is reporting that The Asylum is up to their old tricks again and cranking out yet another Sharknado. This time, the series is getting the legasequel/prequel/reboot treatment with Sharknado Origins.

Anthony Ferrante, who directed all previous ’ Nado s, will be returning to the franchise. But stars Ian Ziering and Tara Reid will not. Sharknado Origins will tell the story of teen Fin and April (yes, Ziering’s character is named Fin) as they meet one summer at the beach. Their love blossoms juts as the first Sharknado comes out of the ocean.
