Axed Nine presenter Amber Sherlock has blamed “streamlining” for her forced exit following 20 years at the network as a TV host and journalist, declaring it’s the “end of an era for dedicated 6pm weather presenters”.

On Thursday, the Sydney-based personality offered a farewell to fans on social media which followed her absence from the screen on Monday.

It comes as the network dishes out a raft of redundancies across its broadcast and streaming division.

“Nearly 20 years anywhere is a milestone, but to be in your lounge rooms every evening has been a privilege,” Sherlock wrote.
