Some say that parenting takes a village. A few local organizations collaborated to make that a reality.

On Friday, the Penquis Prevention Council held a parenting exposition at the university of Maine at Augusta Bangor campus. Families of young children and parents-to-be were invited to find community support and family resources. The exposition featured a wide array of booths offering consultations and connecting parents to resources, all at no cost.

"Lots of families have different needs, so if we can be able to help support them with a new car seat or safety items or whatever that might be. And to have it all in one place where families can come and learn about all the resources in their community," said Division Manager at Penquis Prevention Council Wendy Pace.
