SCREVEN COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - Screven County Schools administrators and local law enforcement says they were made aware of social media posts claiming that a student threatened to bring a gun to school Friday.

Administrators and law enforcement said they immediately began investigating the situation and took all necessary steps to ensure the safety of students and staff.

The school system released the following statement regarding the incident:

The school system confirmed that the matter concerning the social media post has been fully investigated and resolved.
