An early morning landslide occurred near an Interbay apartment complex, with crews assessing damage and possible safety measures.

At approximately 7:45 a.m., the Seattle Fire Department (SFD) began to work on the hole that was found underneath the apartment building, according to KIRO 7 .

SFD crews removed debris from the nearby drains before assigning the work to the Seattle Department of Construction & Inspections (SDCI) and Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) for further evaluation of the building.

The City of Seattle noted that residents were told to use the west-side walking path until temporary fixes are made, following a Geotechnical Engineer’s assessment.
