MANY, La. (KALB) - It’s been three seasons since Jess Curtis won his third and final State Championship with the Many Tigers; however, the legendary coach’s impact in Cenla is still being felt.
“It’s kind of like a little coaching tree you start to build,” Curtis said.
Curtis’ coaching tree has sprouted into the 2025 LHSAA State Playoffs, with former assistants Tyler Hassell at Many and Byron Keller at Winnfield taking their new programs to the postseason.
“If you’re around Jess, his energy is just contagious,” Hassell said. “He’s a leader of men, and that’s something that I’ve taken with me.”
“I learned a lot in that process as well and how to structure practice to make sure we bring that energy, to bring that competition, to make sure we get the best out of our guys,” Keller said.
