OTTAWA — The recent defection of Chris d’Entremont to the Liberals prompted a Canadian ethics watchdog to file a complaint with the federal ethics commissioner.
In a letter sent Friday to Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner Konrad von Finckenstein, Duff Conacher of Democracy Watch maintains Acadie-Annapolis MP Chris d’Entremont violated the Conflict of Interest Code for Members of the House of Commons when he crossed the aisle to the Liberals — bringing the Mark Carney Liberals one step closer to a majority government.
“This guy was a Conservative MP, ran as a Conservative MP,” Conacher told the
“Floor crossing is a fundamental violation of the right of voters to make an informed choice while voting.”
