PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Investigators say a disagreement between two barbers escalated into a shooting that left one man with critical injuries and the other in jail last week in west Phoenix.

Gerrin Jones, 36, is being held on multiple charges in connection with the shooting that happened on Thursday, Nov. 5, near 83rd Avenue and Indian School Road . Around 8:30 p.m. that night, officers were called to the area and found two vehicles involved in a crash.

There was also a man, whose family members have identified as Ramel Ross, who was shot, lying next to his SUV.

According to court documents, he was awake and told officers he didn’t know who shot him or why. He was rushed to a hospital, where he remains in the intensive care unit.
