MINOT, N.D. (KMOT) – The Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch dedicated a new psychiatric residential treatment facility on Friday at their Minot campus.

The Zurcher Cottage will provide high-quality care and treatment for the youngest and highest-needs boys and girls at the ranch, most of whom would be between the ages of 10 and 14.

Leadership with the ranch said the current 50-year-old cottages have outlived their usefulness.

It’s named after Carol Zurcher Townsend, one of the main financial supporters of the project, whose father was involved in the planning of the Minot campus.

The ranch received donations from individuals, foundations and corporations, allowing the building to be constructed without incurring debt.
