ORLANDO -- The Maine Black Bears were eliminated from the NCAA tournament, losing to UCF 2-0 on Friday night.

In the first minutes of the opening half, Maine had an early opportunity to score as Gillian Rovers received the ball on the right side of the net with no one in front of her. But the shot was saved by Genesis Perez Watson who made an incredible diving deflection to hold Maine off the board.

Later in the half, the Knights moved the battle into the attacking zone. A nice crossing pass in front of the net found Rajanah Reed who tapped it into the goal for the game's first point.

In the second half, UCF closed the door when a Knights attacker booted the ball into the air, and Hannah Boughton headed it just out of reach for the Black Bears goaltender Elena Barenburg, putting Golde
