ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - The Trump administration announced they are dumping a Biden-era plan to compensate airline travelers disrupted by lengthy delays and cancellations.

Citing President Trump’s executive order “Unleashing Prosperity through Deregulation,” the DOT memo states the proposed plan would result in “unnecessary regulatory burdens.”

Airline associations shared the plan would have led to an increase in costs for consumers and cost airlines more than $5 billion.
