IRMO, S.C. — A bright yellow stop-work notice is now posted at the entrance of Dorset Ridge, a planned 90-home subdivision under construction off Kennerly Road near Irmo. The sign, issued by Richland County’s New Development Engineering Division, orders all activity at the nearly 59-acre site to halt, saying the project is in violation of multiple sections of the county’s land development code.

According to the notice, anyone who “commits, participates in, assists in, or maintains this violation may be found guilty of an offense.” The order cites unresolved issues from two prior notices of violation, one dated Sept. 24 and another dated Oct. 15, and lists the reason as “off-site impacts and continued lack of stabilization.”
