Delhi woke up to another day of choking smog on Saturday, with the air quality remaining in the ‘severe’ category. The Air Quality Early Warning System (EWS) recorded the city’s AQI at 386, while private air quality monitor AQI.in pegged it at 470. This is equivalent to the impact of smoking 12 cigarettes a day on your lungs. A dense layer of haze shrouded the skyline, leaving buildings and arterial roads barely visible in the morning.

As per the Early Warning System for Delhi , the AQI was at 386 at 5:30 AM. The difference in the AQI readings is due to the different parameters measured and locations of the aqi quality monitoring stations.
