HICO. W.Va. — Midland Trail scored a touchdown in each quarter to advance to the Class AA quarterfinal round with a 27-12 win over Petersburg. The victory is the first postseason win for the seventh-seeded Patriots in seven seasons.
“I am not going to downplay it by any means,” said Midland Trail head coach Jeremy Moore. “This senior group has been through a lot. They lost a teammate. They switched over from single-A to double-A. We have tried to play a tough schedule to get them acclimated for things like this. We have asked a lot of that senior group. For them to get this one on their home field, it is very, very special.”
