REIDSVILLE — The Red Springs football team took a 44-0 setback Friday at top-seeded Reidsville in the second round of the 4A state playoffs, ending the Red Devils’ season.
Red Springs (5-7), the No. 17 seed in the 4A East Region, faced a large deficit early after Reidsville (9-2) scored on its first two drives and added a 2-point conversion on both, taking a 16-0 lead just six minutes into the game. That remained the score at the end of the first quarter, and Reidsville added another touchdown in the early seconds of the second quarter to lead 24-0, which remained the tally at the intermission.
