The New York Mets are set to lose Pete Alonso in free agency this winter, and their fanbase won't be too happy if that happens.
The Mets need to make some moves this winter, including potentially re-signing Alonso, if they want to close the gap on the teams at the top of the National League. After missing the postseason, the Mets could get desperate in free agency and on the trade block.
Just Baseball's Ryan Finkelstein recently predicted the Mets would retain Alonso in free agency on a huge five-year, $150 million deal.
