WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - President Trump signed an order on Friday to reduce tariffs on coffee, bananas, and beef, providing relief to local coffee shops that have struggled with rising costs.
The order cuts tariffs on imports from Guatemala and Argentina. Greater Grounds Coffee & Co. in Wichita said the tariffs have affected their business and forced them to raise prices.
“We have seen an impact from those countries; some had some pretty high tariffs,” said Byron McSwain, owner of Greater Grounds Coffee & Co.
Customers notice price increases
Greater Grounds customer Anchitha Hannur said she has noticed the gradual price increases at her regular coffee shop.
